by on 07 August 2018

You may not be aware that on 28th June 2018, Transport Minister Phil Twyford, announced an increase in petrol excise duty of 3.5 cents per litre to take effect from 30th September 2018, and further 3.5 cent increases in 2019 and 2020. At the same time, although it did not get a lot of media coverage, as did the Auckland Regional Fuel Tax, he also announced an increase of Road User Charges from 1st October 2018 and in 2019 and 2020.

The purpose of this notice is to inform our clients of the pending increases.

The Road Transport Forum has estimated that RUC’s will increase around 5 per cent per year  over the next the next three years and will add significantly to Road Transport Operators costs
