FCL rates are on the decline, mainly ex CHINA, but also spreading to South Asia.
It started when some of the ssLines with longer transits were offering rates under the “market rate” from some China load ports.
Maersk retaliated by reducing some of their China origins on their Tanjug Pelepas service ( slow transit option). From there it has escalated to the medium and fast transit operators, they are reducing their rates to protect volume.
